LVM-Preußenstadion is not a typical football ground. That distinction defines what remains of it today.

The renovation has been visible for a few years, starting with the demolition of the old main stand. The current structure, the Heimathafen-Immo Tribüne, opened in August and provides a modern, covered space for supporters.

History is present in layers. The original pitch was laid in an earthen hollow, a fact that still influences the way the ground holds its shape. The main stand was rebuilt after the Second World War, and the current structure is a further evolution of that post-war reconstruction.

The project aims to transform the venue into a fully covered arena. The new East stand, the Fiffi-Gerritzen-Kurve, is scheduled for completion in late 2026. The scale of the investment is significant, funded by the city of Münster, and the final capacity is set to reach nearly 20,000. The stadium is not yet finished, but it is no longer the same place it was when the track was first laid out.
