SSKB Stadium

SSKB Stadium sits inside the Sir Seretse Khama Barracks. The ground is not a major tourist destination; it is a working facility where the Botswana Defence Force XI F.C. plays its domestic matches. The venue opened in its current form in 2010, following a renovation that began in late 2009. The project was commissioned by the Botswana National Sports Council to improve facilities in anticipation of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, aiming to attract national training camps. The work lasted more than a year and included a fresh layer of natural grass.

What makes the place distinct is its setting. The capacity is 5,000, a figure that suggests a community venue rather than a commercial arena. The stadium is named after Sir Seretse Khama, the first President of Botswana, but the name does not appear on the exterior structures in any obvious way.
