It stands in the Goughin Nord district and serves the national side, Les Étalons , alongside Étoile Filante de Ouagadougou, Salitas FC and Majestic FC.
On the 15th, 40,000 watched Burkina Faso play Guinea in the group stage of that year's Africa Cup of Nations, a figure no match here has since matched. A World Cup qualifier against Algeria in 2013 drew a sell-out crowd.
Then the ground lost its standing. CAF suspended it in 2021 for failing to meet the confederation's requirements, and the response was a rebuild aimed at Category III/IV standards. The work was completed in 2025, and the stadium was re-homologated that year.
It is owned by the government of Burkina Faso and managed by the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Employment.
