Inside the perimeter, the stadium has lived through a long history of local football. It opened in 1980 and underwent a significant renovation in 2011, yet the character of the place remains tied to its location in the Samofa district of Biak. It is the home of PSBS Biak, a team that has called this venue its base for decades. The capacity of the stands sits at 15,000.

The ground is known for its relationship with the weather rather than just the players on it. The natural grass surface is often at the mercy of the tropical climate. During the final leg of the Pegadaian Liga 2 in March 2024, the match was suspended and later played due to heavy rain flooding the pitch. Despite the waterlogged conditions, PSBS Biak secured the victory and promotion to Liga 1. The stadium also hosted the second leg of the semi-final against Persiraja Banda Aceh, where supporters were encouraged to fill the stands.

Matches for the Srikandi Merdeka Cup, including a semi-final series involving PSM Makassar and Bali United, have also taken place here. The facility continues to serve as a central point for the community, hosting victory parades and major regional fixtures.
