The Stadion Harapan Bangsa stands in Banda Aceh. The ground was officially opened on January 1, 1997 . The rehabilitation completed in September 2024 for the National Sports Week (PON XXI) changed the way the stadium sits today. The capacity was reduced to an all-seated 18,000 , a significant cut from the historical figures that once ranged up to 45,000. The renovation was funded by the State Budget (APBN), with a large portion of the Rp 408 billion allocation going to this venue and the adjacent Stadion H. Dimurthala.

The structure took a beating from the weather last month; a window at the basketball venue collapsed due to strong winds, injuring spectators.
