The Homelands

The Homelands is the Green Box Stadium. It is not a grand venue, but it is the home of Ashford United. The move from Cheriton Road in 1989 was a step up.

The surface is the most distinct feature. The 3G artificial turf was laid in 2015. The main stand offers a few hundred covered seats, a modest shelter for supporters bundled in coats.

The most famous day here was the FA Cup replay against Fulham in 1994. That record attendance of 3,363 has never been beaten, even when Kennington FC share the facility. The capacity is listed as 3,200, though the numbers shift depending on who you ask.

The stadium sits on Ashford Road, a quiet spot in Kingsnorth. It is not a destination for tourists, but for the local team, it is everything.
