The Lantern Stadium

The Lantern Stadium sits in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, on Watkins Rise off The Walk. The ground is best known for the Bert Wright Stand, a 150-seat structure that has anchored the venue since 2001. Its most recent transformation came in 2024 and 2025, when the club laid down an artificial FIFA Quality Pro 3G pitch. This change coincided with a period of ground-sharing at Kings Langley FC while the work was carried out.

The stadium has seen its fair share of upgrades over the years. Between 2005 and 2006, the club secured turnstiles and changing rooms from the old Wembley Stadium, giving the place a tangible link to the past. More recently, two new stands were erected in 2018 and 2019 to meet the demands of Step 3 football. A sprinkler system and perimeter barrier followed in 2020 and 2021, ensuring the ground remains compliant with modern standards.

One of the ground’s notable moments occurred on 19 October 2019, when 2,011 fans turned up for an FA Cup fourth qualifying round match against Barnet. This game marked the first time a full live event was broadcast in Potters Bar history via BBC live-stream. The venue has also hosted other local events, including the Hertfordshire Senior Cup Final and the annual Potters Bar Beer Festival. The capacity of the stadium is officially listed at 2,500 spectators, though the exact year it was originally built remains uncertain.
