Cagliari left the Sant'Elia in 2017 and built something that fits its ground rather than its ambition.
It opened as Sardegna Arena, and by July 2021 had become Unipol Domus once the insurance group signed on as sponsor.
The national team has used it too: Italy beat San Marino 7-0 there in May 2021. For Cagliari's own crowd, the benchmark came later — 16,412 through the gates for the visit of Fiorentina in May 2024.
