Yeni Malatya Stadyumu

The Yeni Malatya Stadyumu carries its own history in the structure itself, a building that arrived after the old ground ceased to exist. It sits near the university campus, separated from the centre of Malatya by distance and the flow of traffic on the highway.

Visitors arrive to see a stadium built for a purpose: to house Yeni Malatyaspor in a permanent home. The structure replaced the former Malatya İnönü Stadium, which the club had used for decades before it was closed. The new venue opened in 2017, replacing a site that had become too small for the club's ambitions.

The architecture is distinctive. A large white roof arches over the stands, creating an enclosed space that contrasts with the open landscape beyond. The seating area features a pattern of red and yellow seats arranged in blocks, with some sections appearing in different shades, creating a visual rhythm across the tiers. A prominent red flag with a white crescent and star hangs above the main stand, visible against the steel framework of the roof.

The pitch sits at the heart of the stadium, surrounded by a running track that separates the field from the closest rows of seats. The grass surface appears well-maintained, with clear white lines marking the boundaries and penalty areas. Advertising boards line the perimeter, displaying various sponsors including "SPORTOTO SüperLig" and other local businesses.

Inside, the atmosphere reflects the club's identity. Banners in Turkish hang from the stands, one reading "DOST KÖTÜ GÜNDE BELLİ OLUR" (A friend is known in bad times), another referencing the city and Elazığ. These messages speak to local connections and community sentiment rather than generic stadium decoration.

The stadium's design creates an intimate viewing experience, with the roof bringing the stands closer to the action on the pitch.
