Easter Women’s T20 Cup is an international invitational cricket tournament organized by the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA). Established in 2026, the competition serves as a developmental series for national teams rather than a domestic club fixture. The inaugural edition took place in April of that year at the Entebbe Cricket Oval in Uganda. The event is explicitly designated as a non-T20I series, meaning matches do not count towards ICC rankings, though it remains part of Cricket Uganda's official high-performance calendar. This distinction separates it from other regional competitions like the Mawanda Cup or the Women's Elite League. The structure of the tournament relies on a double round-robin league format with no knockout stages. The winner is determined solely by the points table at the end of the group stage. In the 2026 season, the competition included four teams: Uganda Women, Uganda A, United States of America Women, and Nepal Women. Although Nepal Women withdrew, leaving three teams to compete in some reports, the intended format featured four sides. Uganda Women secured the title of the inaugural tournament, defeating United States of America Women by 35 runs in the decisive match on April 16, 2026. The cup has no history of promotion or relegation associated with it, reflecting its status as an exhibition series focused on player development. While the competition builds a platform for emerging talent, it operates independently from the standard domestic pyramid. The tournament’s schedule is set to coincide with the Easter period, providing a dedicated window for international fixtures without interfering with regular domestic commitments. Future editions may expand, but currently, the focus remains on strengthening the national setups through high-quality practice against opposing sides. The event highlights the growing infrastructure for women’s cricket in the region, offering a structured environment for international engagement.
