The Indonesia Women’s versus Mongolia Women’s series represents a specific chapter in the development of women’s cricket in Southeast and Central Asia. The fixture gained prominence during the six-match Twenty20 International series staged in Bali in April 2024. Indonesia secured a clean sweep, winning all three matches of that bilateral engagement. This result followed an earlier meeting between the two sides at the 2023 Asian Games, highlighting the growing regularity of their interaction.
Cricket administration in Indonesia operates through the Indonesian Cricket Association (PCI). Formerly known as the Yayasan Cricket Indonesia, the body changed its name in 2011 after joining the National Sports Committee (KONI). It holds Associate Member status with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The domestic setup lacks a single continuous professional league. Instead, activity centres on the National Championship, a periodic tournament for provincial teams, and the Indonesian Cricket League (ICL), a franchise-based Twenty20 event launched in 2018. Regional structures, particularly the Jakarta Cricket Association League, provide a stable foundation for player development.
Mongolia’s cricket landscape is managed by the Mongolia Cricket Association (MCA). Established in 2007 and renamed in 2018, the association achieved ICC Associate Member status in 2021. The country’s primary domestic competition is the Mongolian National T20 League, which began in 2020. This tournament features eight club teams representing districts and provinces, utilising group stages and knockout formats. A summer fifty-over series exists but does not currently produce a formal table. Both associations contribute to the sport’s expansion in regions where cricket remains a developing discipline. The bilateral series serves as a platform for these teams to gain international experience against peers from different continents.
Language Note: The text uses British spelling conventions (e.g., "program" is not used, but standard terms like "tournament" and "league" are applied consistently). Abbreviations such as T20I, ICC, and ACC are retained as per sports press standards. PCI and MCA are written out in full on first mention as they are not universal letter abbreviations like UEFA.
