Legends League Cricket (Oman) 2021/22

Legends League Cricket is a private commercial franchise competition that operates independently of the official Oman Cricket pyramid. Founded in 2018 by Raman Raheja and Vivek Khushalani, the league is owned and operated by Absolute Legends Sports Pvt Ltd. While Oman has hosted inaugural seasons, the tournament is not part of the International Cricket Council structure. The competition runs two distinct formats: LLC T20 and LLC Masters. The latter features teams named after player origins, such as the India Maharajas, Asia Lions and World Giants.

The 2022 Masters season in Oman featured three teams competing in a round-robin league stage followed by a final, which the World Giants won. The league has no promotion or relegation system; all participants are permanent franchisees. Player eligibility requires retirement from international cricket. Notably, active Indian Premier League players like MS Dhoni are ineligible due to Board of Control for Cricket in India regulations requiring full retirement from Indian cricket to participate. There is no strict age cutoff, though players are typically veterans.

The league's unique feature is its focus on retired international stars, distinguishing it from active domestic leagues. Recent winners include the World Giants (2022 Masters), India Capitals (2022 T20), Asia Lions (2023 Masters) and Southern Superstars (2024 T20). The official website is llct20.com.
