About

The National T20 Cup Qualifiers functions as the preliminary gateway for domestic Twenty20 cricket in Pakistan. Organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the tournament sits below the premier National T20 Cup. Its primary purpose is to determine which regional associations earn promotion to the main competition for the following season. Teams that do not possess automatic entry to the top tier participate in this event. In the 2025–26 season, ten teams competed in two groups of five played in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group advanced to the main cup. The two group winners faced each other in a final to decide the Qualifiers champion.

Bahawalpur Region secured victory in the 2025–26 edition. They defeated Karachi Region Blues by 59 runs in the final on February 24, 2026, at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. This result confirmed their place in the main National T20 Cup. The tournament structure was formally established as a distinct preliminary stage in the 2015–16 season. Prior to that, regional cricket in Pakistan evolved through various formats. The main National T20 Cup has featured both franchise-based and regional structures over its history. The most successful team in that premier competition is Sialkot Stallions, who hold six titles. The Qualifiers offer a pathway for smaller regions to compete against larger associations. Participation includes bodies such as Azad Jammu & Kashmir Region, Dera Murad Jamali Region, and Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The competition provides a structured route for advancement within the national cricket hierarchy.
