About

The President's Cup Grade-I (1-Day) is a List-A domestic cricket competition in Pakistan. Organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the tournament operates within a three-tier departmental structure that includes Grade-I, Grade-II and Grade-III sides. It serves as the premier 50-over contest for corporate and government entities, a role distinct from the regional Pakistan Cup, which was discontinued after the 2018–19 season. The competition began in the 2023–24 season following a restructuring of the departmental system. The format has adapted as the tournament has developed. The inaugural edition featured ten teams competing in a group stage before semi-finals and a final. The 2024–25 season reduced the field to nine teams split into two groups, with the leading sides advancing to the knockout stages. The 2025–26 campaign introduced a single round-robin league for eight teams, again followed by semi-finals and a final. Participation includes entities such as Khan Research Laboratories, Oil & Gas Development Company Limited and Pakistan Television. Championship honours have been shared among the top departments. SNGPL claimed the inaugural 2023–24 title. The 2024–25 edition was won by SBP. In the most recent season, KRL secured the trophy by defeating PTV in the final, becoming the current holder. The competition provides a pathway for these departmental teams to compete at the highest domestic level, with promotion and relegation routes available between the different grades.
