Singapore Women in Cambodia 2022/23

The meeting between Singapore Women and Cambodia Women is not a formal tournament but a bilateral developmental partnership. Originating from an MOU signed in 2022, the arrangement focuses on technical support and equipment donations rather than competitive league play. The partnership manifests through distinct T20I series rather than a standing championship.

The structure includes the 2023 Singapore Women Tour of Cambodia, comprising five matches, and the subsequent 2025 Cambodia Women Tour of Singapore. The latter leg was branded as the "Cambodia–Singapore Women’s Friendship Cup" and contained three fixtures. Singapore Women have dominated both engagements, winning all eight matches played across the two tours. This dominance reflects the disparity in experience; Singapore is an ICC Associate Member since 1974, while Cambodia Women made their international debut in December 2022 as a newer Associate Member.

Domestic foundations differ significantly between the sides. Singapore operates the Sunbird’s Women’s League (T20), founded under the Singapore Cricket Association, which has been active since 1965. Clubs such as SCC Lionesse and West Coast Swans compete in this environment. In contrast, Cambodia lacks a structured domestic women's league. Its players primarily compete in the National Games and international friendlies under the Cricket Federation Cambodia, established in 2011.

The partnership serves as a regional mentorship scheme rather than a rivalry for honours. The focus remains on capacity building and exposure for the developing team through hosted tours and shared resources.
