Uganda Women in Nepal 2022/23

Nepal and Uganda have not established a recurring bilateral trophy for their women’s teams. Instead, their encounters are sporadic, occurring only during specific tours or multi-nation invitational tournaments. The most recent significant meeting was the Uganda Women Tour of Nepal in 2022. This fixture featured a five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series held in May at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kathmandu. Uganda secured victory in the contest, winning three matches to one. Both nations are currently developing their domestic structures, with distinct formats guiding their progress. In Nepal, the premier domestic tournament is the Prime Minister Cup Women's National Cricket Tournament. Founded in 2015 by the Cricket Association of Nepal, it is a Twenty20 competition. The format has evolved from regional groups to provincial teams following constitutional changes. The 2023–24 season utilized a round-robin group stage with the top four advancing to playoffs, serving as the primary pathway to the national team. Uganda’s top-tier domestic competition is the Cricket Uganda Women’s T20 National League, organized by Cricket Uganda. The 2026 season introduced a two-division format comprising Division One and Division Two, featuring promotion and relegation. The bottom two teams in Division One are relegated, while the top two in Division Two are promoted. Olila CC are the defending champions as of the 2026 season start. While Nepal’s Prime Minister Cup remains a single-tier event, Uganda has implemented a divisional system. There is no annual fixture between the two national sides; their interactions remain limited to these occasional fixtures
