Oradea also dominated the boards with 36 rebounds to Batumi's 34, though the difference was marginal compared to their offensive efficiency.
Ball security became the critical factor. Batumi coughed up 19 turnovers while Oradea kept theirs to just nine, and that extra possession advantage allowed the visitors to build and maintain their lead. Batumi's 22 personal fouls also suggested they were playing catch-up rather than controlling the tempo.
Oradea arrived with momentum, having beaten AEC Larnaca 95-87 just two days earlier, while Batumi's last outing was a narrow 86-85 win over Fribourg Olympic. Both sides showed they could score, but Oradea's consistency in high-scoring games gave them the edge tonight.
By then the gap was beyond repair. Oradea's 27 assists highlighted their ball movement, and Batumi's 16 showed they were relying too heavily on individual efforts. The result leaves Oradea in a strong position early in the tournament, while Batumi will need to address their ball security issues if they want to compete at this level.
