About the player
Egor Shamov came through the academies of CSKA Moscow and Yunost Moskvy-Spartak-2. His path to regular first-team football instead ran through Biolog-Novokubansk, Dynamo Bryansk and Luch-Energiya Vladivostok before he settled at Arsenal Tula in 2018.
It was there that Shamov built his reputation. Over five seasons he made 41 league appearances for Arsenal and was named Best Player of the Match in the Russian Premier League on two occasions — after a 1-0 win over Spartak Moscow in November 2019, and again in a game against Zenit that Arsenal lost 0-1. He was also singled out as one of the league's best goalkeepers for the 11th round of the 2019 season and the 22nd round of 2020, and a fan vote later crowned him Arsenal's Best Goalkeeper for the 2020/21 campaign.
His contract at Arsenal expired in 2023, and he moved on a free transfer to Rubin Kazan. That spell lasted less than a year; when his deal there ran out in June 2024, he signed for Yenisey Krasnoyarsk the following month. He marked his Yenisey debut with a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Ural in September 2024.
Shamov joined Spartak Kostroma as a free agent on 1 July 2026, taking the number 50 shirt. He has yet to win a major team title in his career.
