Griffin Dorsey

Griffin Dorsey's biggest night in an MLS shirt came in the 2023 U.S. Open Cup Final. Starting at right-back for Houston Dynamo FC, he opened the scoring in the 24th minute against Inter Miami and was named Man of the Match as Houston won 2-1.

Dorsey's path to that stage began at Evergreen High School in Colorado, where he earned First-Team All-State honours, before three seasons with Colorado Rush SC brought him Central Conference Player of the Year for 2015-16. A spell with the Colorado Rapids U-23 side preceded a move to Indiana University, where he was named 2nd-Team All-American and 1st-Team All-Big Ten in 2018.

Toronto FC took him 6th overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. His time there was limited to appearances for the reserve side, Toronto FC II, and sparing minutes with the first team before he was waived in May 2021. Houston Dynamo signed him as a free agent that July, and he broke into a regular starting role and was named the club's Young Player of the Year in his first season. He re-signed with Houston in December 2023 through the 2025 campaign, with a club option for 2026. In February 2026, Orlando City SC acquired Dorsey from Houston in a deal built around allocation money and a sell-on percentage, and he signed through the 2027-28 season with a club option for 2028-29.

Dorsey has represented the United States at youth level, featuring for the U-18s and the U-20s, and was part of the side that won the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
