H. Hopkins

Haley Hopkins arrived at Kansas City Current on 30 January 2025, when North Carolina Courage sent her across the league in exchange for $50,000 in intra-league transfer funds. She had spent two seasons with the Courage after being taken 11th overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft, scoring three goals in her rookie campaign — including a brace during the Challenge Cup run that ended with the trophy — and following that with four goals in 28 appearances in 2024.

Kansas City handed her a contract extension through 2027: in her first season with the Current she made 21 appearances, scored once, and won the NWSL Shield. She has since added to that tally, reaching five goals in 24 league appearances for the club.

Her route into professional football ran through two American college programmes. At Vanderbilt, between 2017 and 2021, she scored 34 goals in 58 appearances, was named SEC Freshman of the Year in 2018 and picked up Third-team All-American honours in 2018 and 2020. She then moved to the University of Virginia, where she added 22 goals in 46 appearances and earned Second-team All-ACC recognition in 2022.

Hopkins has represented the United States at U-23 level, and has been named MVP of the Teal Rising Cup in both 2025 and 2026.
