About the player
Juan Mateo Garavito Peláez came through the Boca Juniors de Cali academy, registered there from 2012 before making his senior debut in 2018. He stayed until 2019, when he moved on to Deportes Quindío for a two-year spell.
Deportivo Pasto signed him in 2022, and he remained until June 2023, when he left for Independiente Santa Fe on a free transfer. A loan spell at Águilas Doradas followed in 2024, where he made 11 appearances, before he joined Patriotas Boyacá in 2025. In January 2026 he returned to Deportivo Pasto on a free transfer for a second spell at the club, and he remains part of the squad in the Categoría Primera A.
A left-back who can also play on the right, Garavito represented Colombia at under-17 level, appearing seven times at the 2017 South American Under-17 Championship. He has not featured for the senior national team.
Across his career he has made more than 200 appearances in professional club football, scoring six goals, without yet adding a major trophy or individual award to his record.
