Michael Rangel arrived at Alianza Petrolera: it was with the club in 2012 that he helped fire the side to the Categoría Primera B title, scoring 15 goals in 59 matches and driving the promotion to Colombia's top flight.
The number that stands out most from his time away from Alianza Petrolera is 2019, when on loan at América de Cali he won the Finalización title and finished as the tournament's top scorer with 13 goals, a distinction he shared with Germán Cano. He added further silverware with Junior, lifting the Superliga de Colombia in 2019, 2020 and 2022, and later won the 2021-II title with Deportes Tolima.
