Sebastian Salazar

Sebastián Salazar came through at Independiente Santa Fe, joining the club in 2014 and staying for seven years. He made over 100 appearances there, including 116 in the league between 2014 and 2019, and picked up a broad honours list along the way: the Categoría Primera A title in the 2014-II tournament, the Superliga Colombiana in 2015 and 2017, and a place in the squad that won the 2015 Copa Sudamericana. He did not feature in either leg of that final against Huracán, watching from the bench, but he had been a starter earlier in the run, including the semi-finals.

Although listed by some as a defender, Wikipedia, Transfermarkt, AS.com and Colombian outlets such as Las2orillas and La Mega describe him instead as a defensive or central midfielder, and it is in that deeper midfield role that he has built his career.

After Santa Fe, his path took him abroad and around Colombian football. A loan to Goiás in Brazil in 2020 brought a single appearance in the Série A before he returned home. He then moved to Jaguares FC in 2021, playing 13 matches, before a free transfer to Bogotá FC in early 2023. He has been with Boyacá Chicó since 2024, wearing the number 8 shirt.

At international level, Salazar was called up to Colombia's under-20 squad in 2014, though he has not added senior caps since. Off the pitch, he has drawn attention in the Colombian press for his relationship with singer Marbelle.
