Brattvåg IL

Brattvåg IL has no rival worth the name. In the 4. Divisjon Sunnmøre the club meets Hareid and Langevåg often enough, but no derby has ever attached itself to those meetings, and the record shows nothing beyond league points won or lost between neighbours.

What the club has instead is a long stretch of small ambitions kept. Founded on 7 October 1940 in the village of Brattvåg, in Ålesund municipality, it has spent its life moving between the third and fourth tiers of Norwegian football. The two moments that mattered came in 2015 and 2017: group wins in the 3. Divisjon that sent the team up to the 2. Divisjon, the second coming straight after a relegation, as if the drop back down had only sharpened the appetite to return.

The one run that reached beyond the league table came in the 2016 Norwegian Cup. Brattvåg beat Florø SK after extra time, then took down Hødd 1-0, before Aalesunds FK finally stopped them on penalties, 6-5, after the match itself had ended level.

The team plays at Brattvåg Stadion, an artificial pitch holding 2,000, in yellow shirts and blue shorts.

The name most likely to be mentioned now is Noah Solskjær, loaned to Brattvåg from Aalesunds FK in 2025.
