Stemmemyren idrettsplass holds only 1,500, with a covered stand for around 800, and Sandviken doesn't have it to itself. Varegg Fotball plays there too, and the two clubs run a joint youth setup, sometimes fielding a combined side in the lower divisions under both names.

The bigger name in Bergen, SK Brann, has never been an enemy in the way local rivals usually are for a club this size; the relationship has run the other way, toward cooperation rather than needle. That became explicit on 11 November 2021, when members voted without a single vote against to merge the women's team into SK Brann. From 2022 the side has played on as SK Brann Kvinner, in Brann's colours and under Brann's badge.

Before that merger, Sandviken's women had already given the club its high point. In 2021 they won the Toppserien without losing or drawing a single match: eighteen games, eighteen wins. It capped a history the club itself came to call the elevator: promoted and relegated so many times since founding the league in 1987 that a settled season felt like the exception. There was also a cup won in 1995, when Sandviken beat Trondheims-Ørn 3–2 after extra time on a goal from Gro Espeseth, and a cup final lost far more heavily in 1991, 0–8 to Asker.
