Slavija

The "Eternal Derby" of Slovenian hockey belongs to Olimpija and HK Jesenice.

Slavija never took the Slovenian league title itself, finishing second instead, in 1998–99, 2003–04, 2005–06, 2006–07 and 2012–13, and runner-up again in the Inter-National League in that same 2012–13 season.

Goaltender Gašper Krošelj passed through the team in 2004–2005 before going on to the 2018 Winter Olympics with Slovenia, and defenceman Mitja Robar wore the Slavija jersey in 2003–04 and returned in 2014, later also reaching the 2018 Games.

Financial trouble ended the senior team in 2018, and no senior side has carried the Slavija name since. The junior setup did not go down with it: HK Slavija Junior has kept playing, in the International Hockey League and in Slovenian junior competition.

It traces back further than its own founding year of 1964, to a side called HK Papirničar in the 1950s, and it was under sponsorship at various points that it played as HK Playboy Slavija, before settling into the black and yellow that gave it the nickname Rumeno-črni, the Yellow-Blacks.
