Bob Lucas Stadium

The Bob Lucas Stadium sits on Radipole Lane in Weymouth, Dorset. today was cast not from the local football tradition but from a track for greyhound racing and motorcycle speedway.

The stadium opened for football in 1987, officially christened by Sir Ron Greenwood. The name has changed over time, known previously as the Wessex Stadium, before being renamed to honour Bob Lucas, the club's president who passed away in July 2010.

That match ended in a defeat for the home side, but the memory of the occasion remains. The stadium has also hosted exhibition matches and other FA Cup ties, including a draw with Bury and another with AFC Wimbledon.
