Bomet County Stadium

The ground on Nyamira Road does not look finished. The capacity is listed as 37,000. It is an unusual anchor for a town where the only other county-level venue, the Bomet Green Stadium , is run-down and silent.

It was built to host athletics, with Kikuyu grass laid down for local games, yet it has also hosted political rallies. The project began in 2014, stalled, and eventually saw the county government hand the keys to Bomet University . There are no floodlights, so the sun dictates the schedule. When APS Bomet FC plays here, they run riot on the uneven pitch, though the absence of a proper roof means the weather can punish them from a corner.

The stadium is known by two names: the Bomet County Stadium and the Bomet IAAF Stadium .
