Dr. Fejes András Sport- és Rendezvénycsarnok

The Dr. Fejes András Sport- és Rendezvénycsarnok sits where the Hungarian Army kept its horses. When the building reopened in 2007, the old structure was preserved rather than demolished.

Inside, the floor is a high-performance synthetic surface. It is not natural wood, though it carries the look of it, and it was replaced during a renovation that finished in early 2022. That work also brought in new air conditioning and lighting.

It is home to the local handball club, B.Braun Gyöngyös, and hosts a variety of other sports and cultural events. The name changed in 2015 to honour Dr. András Fejes, a para-handball champion who is an honorary citizen of Gyöngyös. Before that, it was simply the city sports hall.

It is not a temple of football or a cathedral of sport.
