Euregium
Nordhorn, Germany
The name comes from the Euregio region, a cross-border cooperation between Germany and the Netherlands. It has not changed since the doors opened in 1999. What makes the ground distinct is not its age but the level of play it has hosted. The decisive matches of the 2007/08 EHF Cup were played here, and HSG Nordhorn defeated FCK Håndbold Copenhagen with an aggregate score of 60–57 to claim the title.
More recently, the venue hosted the inaugural HSG Premium Cup in August 2024. The matchday programme included FC Barcelona, SG Flensburg-Handewitt, Montpellier Handball, and HSG Nordhorn-Lingen. The Euregium is strictly for indoor sports. The parquet floor is not grass, and it does not wear like turf. It is a clean surface that requires maintenance, and the spectators sit close enough to see the sweat on the players' faces.
