Hala Sportowa w Grodkowie

The Hala Sportowa im. Zdzisława Zielonki sits quietly on ul. Sienkiewicza 29a. It does not announce itself. Inside, the space is defined by the parquet floor, a standard expanse marked for four courts, which has been sanded and varnished. The seating rises from the perimeter in nine rows of telescopic stands.

The venue opened in December 2005, but it did not carry a name until a decade later. It was officially designated in 2015 for Zdzisław Zielonka, a local physical education teacher and the founder of the handball club UKS Olimp Grodków, which established itself in 1972. The club remains the main tenant here. The capacity is fixed at 600, a mix of 350 seated and 250 standing places. The highest attendance recorded was 290 spectators during a Polish Cup match against Zagłębie Lubin in December 2016.

The hall is distinct from the OSiR sports complex at ul. Sportowa 3, which sits nearby and includes a swimming pool opened in 2021.
