The Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa im. Mieczysława Łopatki sits on ul. Sportowa 3 in Gniezno. It is a 2018 addition to the town, built from scratch rather than being a renovation of an older structure. The venue opened with a fixture in the Energa Basket League SuperCup, a match between Anwil Włocławek and Polski Cukier Toruń that ended in overtime.
Inside, the playing surface is a wooden parquet floor designed for basketball, handball, and volleyball. The fixed seating capacity is 1,210 spectators. The ground serves as the home venue for the women's handball club MKS PR Gniezno, which competes in the ORLEN Superliga Kobiet, and has also hosted matches for Enea MKS Gniezno. It manages to accommodate concerts as well, having hosted performances by bands such as Dżem and Lady Pank.
The arena was not built for football. The focus remains on the indoor events. The venue has hosted four Women's Polish Cup finals in handball between 2019 and 2022, and matches for EuroBasket Women 2023 qualifying. It also saw the European U-17 Badminton Championships. The management of the facility falls to GOSiR Gniezno.
