Hall des Sports

Hall des Sports sits at the foot of a forested hill, its long curved roof catching the light. The exterior is pale blue and white, the corrugated metal siding running the length of the building, and a thick line of trees climbs the slope behind it. A sign above the main wall reads "Hall des Sports Régional de Roullante" with the name "Gilles Echervin" beneath it. The parking area in front holds a row of cars, and low bushes with red flowers separate the tarmac from the grass.

Inside, the space opens onto a vast red floor marked with black lines. The stands rise in tiers of orange plastic seats, and a light blue wall runs along the base of the seating. The room is full of children, some catching the air with arms thrown high, others stretching on the floor or standing in lines. One boy in a white shirt is caught mid-jump, his legs dangling, while a coach in an orange top watches over the group. The scene is one of constant motion, a gymnasium where the day's lesson is in full swing.

The building's character is defined by this purpose; it is a hall for activity, not a monument for stillness.
