The new Halle Nord in Buxtehude does not pretend to be anything other than a sports hall. It sits in the Sportzentrum Nord area, replacing the Alte Halle Nord after the old venue closed its doors following forty-eight years of use. The building itself is a functional block, and its primary purpose is to host the women's handball team Buxtehuder SV 1862.

The facility opened in August 2025, with the official inauguration taking place shortly after. Since then, the hall has served as the home venue for matches in the Handball-Bundesliga. The interior features a wooden parquet floor, which is standard for the sport, surrounded by retractable telescopic stands that hold 1,500 spectators. The team played their first league games here in September 2025.

Outside, the structure is defined by its dark cladding.

The capacity remains fixed at 1,500, a slight reduction from the old hall, but the arrangement allows for a clear view of the court. The opening game was a sell-out crowd, and the team has continued to play in front of full houses, including the traditional Christmas game in the 2025/2026 season. The facility is owned by the City of Buxtehude and was designed by MRO Architekten. It is a straightforward venue, built for a specific team and a specific league, without the ambition of being a multi-purpose arena.
