Haslegrave Ground
Loughborough, United Kingdom
Haslegrave Ground sits in Loughborough, Leicestershire, adjacent to the National Cricket Performance Centre. It is a cricket venue owned by Loughborough University. The ground opened in 1983, though some sources cite 1988; 1983 is the accepted date. It has never had an official sponsorship name. The playing surface is natural grass, and the capacity is around 1,500. Floodlights are installed, and a large marquee covers training pitches nearby.
The ground serves as home to Loughborough MCCU and is one of the bases for The Blaze in the Women's Cricket Super League. It hosted Loughborough Lightning from 2016 to 2019. International cricket has found its way here. In 2008, England Women faced West Indies Women in two ODIs. Two years later, Pakistan Women visited for two more ODIs. Between 2012 and 2013, six Women's T20Is were played here, including fixtures against Ireland and Pakistan. A single first-class match took place in 2011 between Loughborough MCCU and Northamptonshire.
The venue is preparing for future events. It was selected to host warm-up matches for the 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. These will include games between South Africa and Ireland, and New Zealand and Bangladesh, scheduled for June 6-9, 2026. Specific attendance records are not available in the sources, so no figures are cited. The lowest team total in a Women's ODI at the ground remains West Indies Women's 45 against England in 2008. The focus remains on the matches played here and the teams that call it home.
