Joynext Arena

The Joynext Arena in Dresden is not a traditional stadium; the concrete base beneath the ice carries parquet flooring and PVC surfaces for basketball and other events. The structure sits at Magdeburger Straße 10 and opened on 31 August 2007. The facility is designed for winter sports, with the ice sheet serving as the primary stage for the Dresdner Eislöwen (Dresden Ice Lions). The team competes in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga 2.

The stands are tight around the rink, and the capacity fluctuates depending on the sport. For matches, the fixed seated places number 3,099, with standing areas bringing the total to 4,576 spectators as of February 2026. The larger configuration for concerts accommodates up to 6,500 people. The arena has worn several names since its inception, moving from the Freiberger Arena to the EnergieVerbund Arena. The venue also hosts the Dresden Cardinals para ice hockey team and serves as a national centre for short track speed skating.
