Jutta-Müller-Eissportzentrum

Chemnitz, Germany

Formerly: Eissporthalle Chemnitz

The Jutta-Müller-Eissportzentrum is an ice sports complex in the Küchwald district of Chemnitz. The indoor hall was created by roofing an outdoor rink in 1964 and 1965.

The capacity sits at 3,850 seats today, a figure that has shifted over decades. When the roof first went up, the space held around 2,500 people. A fundamental renovation in 1973 pushed that number to 4,200 before modernization standards brought it back to the current level.

On March 6, 1976, it hosted a handball international match between East Germany and West Germany, drawing 4,000 spectators for a game the home side won 11–8, even though the primary tenants now include the Chemnitz Crashers ice hockey team and various figure skating clubs.

The complex was renamed in 2024 to honour Jutta Müller, a figure skating coach who worked there since 1955. The relationship between the building and the city is maintained through annual events like the ECoC Curling Cup and Christmas ice shows.
