Kinnarps Arena

The building that now stands in the Rosenlund district of Jönköping was not built on empty land. The structure was raised around and over the previous venue, Rosenlundshallen, while the hockey club continued to play their home games in the old hall. Once the new shell was complete, the old interior was demolished from the inside out. It is a pragmatic solution, one that speaks to a city that did not stop for a break in its sporting calendar.

Before the change of name, this was Kinnarps Arena, a title that lasted for two decades. The current branding reflects a shift in sponsorship, but the architecture remains a functional response to the climate and the needs of the local team, HV71. The club plays in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), and the arena serves as their primary home.

Inside, the reach of the seating bowl is defined by the blue steel beams that cross the ceiling. The capacity has shifted over the years, settling at 6,800 for matches today, a number lower than the peak reached in 2004, but still a significant presence in the region.

The ground is not a monument to a single era; it is a place that has adapted.
