Krollmann Arena
Hagen, Germany
Formerly: Ischelandhalle, Enervie Arena
The ground at Stadionstraße 21/22 in Hagen is an indoor arena. It opened on 15 January 1966 as the Ischelandhalle, and that name returned after sponsorship cycles came and went. The capacity sits at 3,145 seats, a figure reached after the major expansion finished in 2010, when the architectural firm Schmahl + Gerigk altered the interior to meet the requirements of the Basketball Bundesliga. Before that, the club looked at a tent or a converted tennis hall. The surface is an indoor sports floor, and the hall hosts basketball, handball, and table tennis.
The building itself has a long history. It has been home to the German men's national team in a 1975 FIBA European Championship preliminary round, and it hosted the 1988 Andreas Cup with future NBA stars Arvydas Sabonis and Šarūnas Marčiulionis. It also saw the 1969 FIBA European Championship for Junior Women and a string of boxing matches in the 1980s.
The official website belongs to Phoenix Hagen, the primary tenant that plays here. The city of Hagen owns the structure, and the club has played out its years within those walls. The name changed twice — first to Enervie Arena for five years after the 2010 expansion, then to Krollmann-Arena in 2018 under an industrial machinery sponsor — before reverting to Ischelandhalle in 2023.
