The KV Arena sits in the Dolní Lomany district. It is not a place of mystery, but of immediate function.
Inside, the surface is ice, a frozen stage for the Czech Extraliga and the home of HC Energie Karlovy Vary . The arena has seen the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women and the 2011 Men's European Volleyball Championship , events that bring a different kind of energy to the city. It has also hosted acts from James Blunt to Pet Shop Boys , turning the ice rink into a venue for music.
The name on the building has changed, shifting from KV Arena to Realistic Arena and back again before settling on Mattoni Arena in 2025. But the structure remains.
