Liseborg Hallen
Viborg, Denmark
Formerly: Liseborg Hallen
The Liseborg Hallen does not announce itself with grandeur. It sits quietly at Liseborgvej 37, tucked into the Liseborg district of Viborg. Built in 1989 as part of the larger Liseborgcentret sports hub, the hall is a functional space.
For years it served as the home for Søndermarkens Idræts Klub (SIK). But the identity of the ground shifted recently. In September 2024, the hall was renamed Andelskassen Arena following a sponsorship agreement with the local cooperative bank. The unveiling took place on September 21, just before the new season began.
Inside, the floor is synthetic, designed for the sharp turns of handball rather than the running of football. Permanent capacity figures have not been found in any public record, and during the pandemic, temporary limits were set to 100 spectators.
Team Viborg’s women’s squad, competing in the 3F Ligaen, also uses the space. The complex supports tennis and squash alongside handball, but the hall belongs to the ball handlers.
