The Mamak Belediyesi Spor Salonu does not announce itself.

The lighting is fluorescent and fixed high above the court, casting the same flat glare whether the room is half empty or full. It does not look like a place built for spectacle.

The hall opened in 2014, though the exact date the name changed to Hidayet Türkoğlu Spor Salonu is unclear. The municipal basketball team plays here, and the floor is set out for them each Thursday and Saturday evening. The stands rarely move beyond a few hundred people, and the atmosphere is one of waiting rather than celebration. When the Turkish Basketball Second League play-offs came through Ankara in 2021, the semi-final series against Samsunspor drew a crowd that filled the lower section, but the upper tiers remained open. The game itself was decided before the final whistle, and the visitors left without incident.

Sometimes the hall is used for conferences or concerts, but those events are announced separately on the municipal website. On those nights the basketball goals are folded away and the chairs are rearranged, but the space is the same. The only thing that changes is the length of the rope that separates the stage area from the rest of the room.
