Unlike the nearby football stadium, which has seen its name change with every sponsorship, this building has kept its municipal title since it opened in February 2009.
Inside, the layout is compact and functional. The facility is modest in scale, holding 464 spectators, a capacity that makes it feel closer to a community gymnasium than a professional venue.
Beyond handball, the space hosts basketball and volleyball matches for local teams, as well as cultural events, such as a concert by Czech singer Lucie Bílá in December 2025. The building is owned and operated by the city, managed by the municipal company Municipal Real Estate Dunajská Streda, s.r.o.
