The Mission Road Ground carries two names, depending on who you are talking to. The local council calls it the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground, but the International Cricket Council (ICC) knows it only as the Mission Road Ground. Both titles point to the same patch of land in Kau Pui Lung, tucked along Tin Kwong Road in Kowloon City.

It is not a place built for football. The surface is natural grass, flat and green, built for cricket when the weather allows. The ground opened in 1976 with a match between a local Hong Kong side and the Queensland Colts, but it did not reach full stature until the 2015 upgrades. Those renovations brought floodlights, allowing the pitch to host day-night sessions. Without those lights, the ground would have remained a local park rather than an international venue.

The capacity is modest, seating 3,500 spectators. The floodlights are not the only addition; the upgrade also cleared the path for the ground to host One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The first major game under the new lights arrived in January 2016, when Hong Kong faced Scotland in an ODI. It was a historic moment for East Asian cricket, marking the first time an Asian venue hosted ODIs. A T20I followed a few days later, though the fixtures did not continue indefinitely.

The venue has since hosted regional qualifiers, including the 2016 Women’s T20 Asia Cup Qualifier and the 2019 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. It also holds the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament, which returned in 2024 after a long silence. There is no official attendance record to speak of, but the ground remains a steady fixture for the Kowloon Cricket Club and the national sides.
