Municipal Sports Centre

The Municipal Sports Centre in Strovolos does not share the scale of a professional stadium. It functions as a training ground for local clubs and visiting teams rather than a venue for matchday crowds. The complex sits adjacent to Agios Dimitrios Park, placing it within the heart of the Nicosia suburb.

It was established by the Strovolos Municipality in 1991. The facility consists of four five-a-side fields and an athletics track. This layout allows for intensive training sessions, which explains why camps such as Valencia CF have utilised the space. It lacks the permanent seating structure that defines spectator venues, prioritising player development over public attendance.

The site underwent a significant change in June 2025 when it was renamed the Glafkos Clerides Sports Centre. The new title now marks the location. The physical layout of the pitches or courts remains unchanged.

Access to the grounds is straightforward, located at 20 Korytsas Street. The facility is clearly marked for its community role, hosting tennis courts alongside the football pitches. It serves as a reliable base for preparation. The centre has been used for this purpose for decades, providing a consistent environment for athletes regardless of the season.
