Inside, the space is primarily a hall for basketball and handball. The venue has seen many changes, shifting its name with the wind of sponsorship, but the structure itself has remained steady since it opened in 2007. It was built to replace older halls that had served the club for decades, but this modern incarnation offers something different: a clear line of sight and a roof that protects from the Icelandic weather.

The hall is not just for sport. On other evenings, the same floor hosts concerts, and the same seats fill with people who are not there for the match. The arena serves both Valur and KH, two clubs that share the complex but play different games. It is a place of shared space, where the boundaries between a sporting event and a cultural gathering are blurred by the simple fact that the hall is large enough to hold both.

The outdoor pitch nearby is an artificial surface, a necessity for the climate, but the focus here is on the hall.
