National Stadium

The ground at 1 Stadium Drive does not look like the other stadiums in the city. The steel dome sits above the pitch, and its shape is a single, continuous curve.

The structure is part of the wider Singapore Sports Hub complex, which was recently rebranded as The Kallang. The stadium itself does not carry a sponsor’s name and remains the Singapore National Stadium. It opened to replace the old Kallang ground, which was demolished to make way for the new project. The capacity sits at 55,000 for football matches, though the number is lower for cricket or athletics.

The place hosts more than just football. The record attendance for a football match is 52,897, set during a friendly between Manchester United and Inter Milan. However, the biggest crowds have come for concerts. Taylor Swift pulled in 63,000 seats during her tour. The ground is also open to the public and does not keep a private website separate from the hub.

The architecture is the main feature.
