NTC Poprad
Poprad, Slovakia
Formerly: Štadión na Sihoti, Štadión FK Poprad, Mestský futbalový štadión
The stadium does not look like a fortress; it is a training facility built for function, yet the mountains give it a sense of scale that belies its 5,700-seat capacity.
There is no artificial turf underfoot here, unlike the satellite training pitches in the complex.
The ground officially opened on 11 December 2014, following a reconstruction that began in 2011. The Slovak Football Association operates the site, and it serves as the home for FK Poprad. It also hosts matches for the youth national teams, including a UEFA Euro 2017 qualifier that drew nearly 5,600 fans. The facility is distinct from the club’s previous ground, which was the site of the initial renovation. The general contractor for the build was SCORP, s.r.o., though the architect remains unidentified. The stadium has not undergone sponsorship-based name changes and is consistently referred to as NTC Poprad.
