Olvi Areena
Kuopio, Finland
Formerly: Kuopion jäähalli, Data Group Arena
Olvi Areena is a functional building. It opened in 1979 as Kuopion jäähalli. The surface has always been artificial ice.
It is the home of KalPa, the local team in the Liiga. On other days the hall hosts concerts and cultural events. The Kuopio Dance Festival moved into the arena in 2025. The city celebrated its 250th anniversary with a concert called 'Made in Kuopio 250' in the same year. The hall can hold 5,224 people. That rebuild was part of the Kuntolaakso project, which also brought a new parking garage in 2019.
The name has shifted three times. From 1979 to 2017 it was Kuopion jäähalli. Then came Data Group Arena, and since 2019 it has been Olvi Areena. The ownership changed from the city to SEB Leasing during that time. It has not hosted the ice hockey World Championship or the World Junior Championship, and the exact attendance record for a single game is not on file.
The hall is located in the Hatsala area, sometimes called Niirala or Kuntolaakso.
