Øreåshallen

Øreåshallen stands at Øreåsveien 9, a modest municipal sports hall in Moss that has served two municipalities since it opened in 1986. It sits near the border with Rygge, and clubs from both areas, such as HK Rygge, call it home. The building retains its original name; no sponsorship renaming is on record. It is not a temple of football, but a working room for handball, floorball, badminton and physical education. The wooden and synthetic floor is distinct from the outdoor pitch at the nearby Øreåsen fotballanlegg.

The hall has seen national competitions come through its doors. The NM Styrkeløft, the national powerlifting championships, were held here in 2024. NM Boccia qualifiers and the 2023 Eliteserie Sluttspill, the national badminton league playoffs, also took place within its walls. Regional boxing tournaments, including the Diplomserien ØST, have used the space. The mood shifts depending on the sport, but the hall itself remains quiet between events.

Attendance figures are small-scale, ranging from 14 to 148 spectators for specific events, suggesting a local venue rather than a destination arena. The Moss kommune (Moss Municipality) retains ownership, and the facility continues to host local events such as the Nordmynt market fair. It is not a stadium for matches with history, but a hall for matches with purpose.

It is an indoor sports hall, and that distinction matters more than capacity numbers. It simply exists, used by those who need it, unchanged since 1986.
